「新宿三井ビル」のレストランフロア一角のテナントスペースを利用して喫煙室に改修。同フロアに出店するレストラン店舗の喫煙ルール多様化への対応を視野に、レストランのお客様やオフィスワーカーのCS強化を目的としている。デザインは閉鎖的隔離的であるのではなく、飲食店が並ぶ空間に溶け込む喫煙スペースをという狙い。シガーバーのイメージで、と明るさを抑えた心地よさを追求。オフィスとは違う、程よい暗さが気分を切り替える。センターテーブルを中心にして、カウンターテーブル、ウォールベンチと三つのシチュエーションを選べる。無垢板のテーブルは周りと自然に会話が生まれるきっかけとなる装置であり、空間の中心でもある。全体をゼブラウッド、竹の集成材、モザイク大理石、といった自然素材で囲まれた温かみのあるトーンでまとめている。アイストップとなる壁は、パースペクティブな構図で奥行きと広がりを感じられればと、全面オーロラの風景を映したモノクロ写真を配している。（上口泰位／日本設計）

An area in the tenant space of the restaurant floor of the “Shinjuku Mitsui building” was refurnished to become a smoking area. This was in order diversify the smoking rooms as well as to reinforce the customer service to the guests coming to the restaurants as well as the employers of the office building. Its design aimed to have an inviting space similar to a coffee house instead of having a closed isolated space. The space is to have a very comfortable feeling with a slight brightness coming from the image of a cigar bar. A space that is different from one’s office allowing one to refresh with its gentle darkness. One can choose from three types of seats, the wall table, the counter table or the center table. Surrounding the solid wood tables, which are the backbone of the space, are installations that allows one to naturally to start making a conversation. A warm tone is created with the usage of natural materials used such as zebra wood, bamboo and mosaics of marble. Black and white pictures of the aurora are placed on the walls to give a perspective that creates depth to the space. ( Yasunori Kamiguchi／NIHON SEKKEI, Inc. )
