Aesop 札幌ステラプレイス店

雪の中にひしめくシラカバの原生林。街を取り囲む雪化粧の山々と、その霞がかった山際のぼんやりとしたライン。そして、そこに広がる建築物などの人工物…。札幌、広くは北海道で見られるそれらの風景にインスピレーションを受け、ある種ポエティックであり、情景的な空間をストアの世界観として表現したいと思いました。その風景は、ダイナミックでありながらどこか脆さを持ち、荒々しさがありながら繊細である、といった相反するものを抱えた風景です。メインマテリアルには、札幌市南区で採掘される「札幌軟石」と呼ばれる石材を使用し、壁面、カウンターをこの素材で構成しました。札幌軟石は非常に軽く加工性が高いこと、防火性が良いことから、100年以上前から公共建築など建設資材として広く用いられています。わたしたちはこの「札幌軟石」の質感や荒らした際のアブストラクトな表情に、この場所特有の風景を重ねました。ディスプレイの棚板や各什器など、機能が求められる部分にはバイブレーション仕上げのステンレスを使用し、自然の荒々しさと同居する、人工物や雪景色のような光をイメージすると共に、空間全体が製品の受け皿のような一つのプロダクトとなることを目指しました。（二俣公一／ケース・リアル）

Virgin forests of white birch are in snow. Snow mountains surrounds towns and ridge lines of the mountains look hazy. Artificial objects such as architectures spread in a field.
We decided to create a poetic and scenic space for this store, inspired by those sceneries seen in Sapporo city and also across Hokkaido prefecture. The sceneries contain two conflicting factors such as dynamic yet fragile and wild yet delicate. We adopted “Sapporo freestone” for the main material and made wall and counter with this unique stone which were mined in the south area of Sapporo. Sapporo freestone has been used for building materials of public architectures since more than 100 years ago because of its extremely light, easy-to-process, and also fire-safety features. We associated the vernacular scenery in this area with rough and abstract face and texture of Sapporo freestone. We made display shelves and fixture with vibration finish stainless steel, forming an impression of the light in artificial objects or snowscape that are coexisting with the wild nature.
